FAQ - Holiday Care
Where do I have to transfer the participation fee to?
You can transfer the fee directly to the university bank account or you can pay the fee directly in the university cash office. Please always provide the project number and your child’s name as reference. You can find the project number and the bank details on the application form for the holiday care.
Additionally, it is important that you present a record of the payment on your child’s first day.
Where is the gathering place every morning?
Every morning from 8:00 o’clock, the gathering place is the Universitätsring 5 (Mensa "Burse zur Tulpe", Uniplatz).
Where can I pick my child(ren) up again in the afternoon?
In the afternoon, you can pick up your child(ren) in front of the Universitätsring 5 (Hallischer Saal; Uniplatz).
Can I also pick my child(ren) up after lunch?
After prior arrangement, it is possible to also pick up children after lunch. It is important that you already note this on the application form and come to an agreement about the time in the morning.
Can I pick up my child(ren) directly at the places of the program?
Picking up your child(ren) directly where the program takes place is not a problem. However, it is important to come to an agreement beforehand to limit the time frame.
I cannot pick my child(ren) up myself. Is it possible for someone else to pick them up?
Together with the application, you can authorize several other people to pick up your child(ren). If you need additional persons, please submit a letter of authority for them on the respective day.
What do I do if my child(ren) suddenly get(s) ill?
Please let us know until 8:30 a.m. Cancellations at short notice are possible by telephone, at 0345 / 55 21375 or at 0345 / 55 21359, and by e-mail, to familiengerechte-hochschule@uni-halle.de
Which meals do(es) my child(ren) receive? Do I need to provide them with additional food?
Your child(ren) will receive breakfast and a warm lunch with a drink in the Mensa. Nevertheless, please provide your child(ren) with enough to drink and an afternoon snack.
Do I need to provide pocket money?
If you would like to, you can provide your child(ren) with a pocket money of 2€. This can be spent for ice cream at the swimming pool for example.
Is a ticket for public transport required?
If your child(ren) is/are in possession of a Havag summer holiday ticket, please note this on the application form and make sure your child(en) bring(s) it with them every day. Otherwise, we provide tickets for all children without a summer holiday ticket every day.
How is/are my child(ren) insured?
During the holiday care, the children have neither a liability insurance nor a casualty insurance. Swimming and other special events take place at one’s own risk. You can find further information on page 2 of the application form under “Versicherungen”.
What does the following mean: “After agreeing to it with the responsible person, my child is allowed to move freely without supervision in small groups”? (On the application form: “Mein Kind darf sich nach Absprache mit den Betreuer*innen in Kleingruppen selbstständig ohne Aufsicht bewegen.“)
After arranging it with the supervisors, your child, together with other kids, is allowed to leave momentarily. The children will always be in sight and calling distance. This concerns for example a playground visit, if your child wants to go to the adjoining meadow to the ice-cream truck. If you do not want this, please cross “Mein Kind muss stets in Begleitung eines/r Betreuers/in sein” (“My child has to be accompanied by a supervisor at all times”).
