Below, you will find services for additional child care in Halle and Leipzig. This includes child care locations at the MLU and short-term and emergency child care as well as babysitter agencies.

Overview
Child Care Opportunities at the MLU
Locations for Playing, Nursing, and Changing:
There are a variety of rooms throughout the MLU which offer the possibility to nurse or change your child. There are also child-friendly playing and reading areas as well as parent-children-rooms and in the cafeterias, you can ask for highchairs. Some of these rooms are also suitable for short-term child care.

Kinderinsel des Studierendenrats:
The “Kinderinsel” (children’s island) offers parents, among other things, the opportunity to take care for children. You can take care of the children yourself or organize child care via a third party. The “Kinderinsel” is located inside the building of the Student Council of MLU at Universitätsplatz 7. The room can be booked via E-Mail and then used after prior arrangements with the office of the Student Council.
Room for Playing, Nursing, Changing and Recreation at Steintor Campus:
The recreation room for playing, nursing and changing diapers can be used to watch your own children. Information about opening hours, access, usage regulations and inventory can be found here.
Parent-Children-Rooms:
Parent-children-rooms can be found at the different locations of MLU Halle, for example at Campus Heide-Süd, Weinberg-Campus and at the Franckesche Stiftungen. The rooms offer employees with children the possibility to work and care for their children simultaneously.
Exceptional-Hour-Care “WeinbergKids” at MLU’s Weinberg Campus:
The WeinbergKids offer additional, hourly child care for afternoons and evenings. The loving child care is open always from Mondays to Fridays from 13:30 to 20:30. After prior arrangements, further times of care are possible as well.
Holiday Care of the Familienbüro:
Twice a year the Familienbüro organizes a holiday care for children of students and employees of MLU. Children between the ages of 5 and 14 are invited to participate in the two-week summer holiday care and the one-week autumn holiday care.
Short-Term and Emergency Child Care in Halle
Weinberg-Kids:
The day care facility WeinbergKids is open from Monday to Friday from 13:30 to 20:30 as well as after prior arrangements. Students pay 2€ per hour and employees of the MLU pay 5€ per hour.
The Family Floor:
Individual child care can be organized via the Family Floor of the Franckesche Stiftungen.
Krokoseum:
In the Krokoseum , small groups of children (up to 12 years old) can be cared for before noon. In the afternoons, children can participate in the program of the Krokoseum.
“Notmütterdienst e.V.” Emergency Care in Halle/Leipzig:
The Notmütterdienst e. V. offers help for families in the form of short- or long-term child care and support in managing the household.
Short-Term and Emergency Child Care in Leipzig
Short-Term Child Care and Mediation of Babysitters:
Private short-term child care is offered by “Wiesenknopf ”. “Wiesenknopf” is able to take care of children in exceptional situations. They offer specially equipped facilities and substitute bases in Leipzig.
Mediation of Babysitters and Short-Term Child Care Substitution:
Hummelbienchen Leipzig offers support in finding a babysitter as well as an hourly child care in different districts in Leipzig. They can also offer assistance in finding a substitute in case nannies (Tagesmütter/Tagesväter) are closed.

Mediation of Babysitters:
Mittagskind Leipzig offers support in finding a babysitter.
